What is GOGI Yoga?
GOGI Yoga incorporates the tools of GOGI (Getting Out by Going in) into the Yoga Practice. Getting Out by Going In (GOGI) is a non-profit organization that develops and distributes educational materials sharing the simple GOGI Life Tools. This GOGI Yoga training focuses on the GOGI Life Tools - BOSS OF MY BRAIN, BELLY BREATHING & FIVE SECOND LIGHTSWITCH.
Who is this course for?
This course is for beginning and experienced teachers. If you are a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance you can receive 30 hours of CEU's. If you are a new teacher you will have an opportunity to continue on with a mentorship to complete the 170 hours needed to register with Yoga Alliance.
Will I be certified to teach Yoga with the completion of this course?
After completion of the required 30 hours, including organizing and teaching a 3 class series in underserved, non-traditional Yoga spaces (including virtual) and demonstrating a competency to adapt teaching to any injury, age or condition, you will receive a certification to teach GOGI Yoga for Small Spaces and a letter of accreditation from the nationally recognized non-profit organization, GOGI (Getting Out By Going in) recognizing participant has been vetted to teach in prisons. Is this a virtual or in person course and what if I am not available for all the dates?
GOGI Yoga for small spaces may be taken in person or virtually. Missed sessions may be made up by watching recordings of missed classes.
What is the time commitment outside of the set hours?
Expect 2 hours of home study and practice per week.
Final Teaching Project - minimum of a 3 week series completed.
How will I find somewhere to do my final teaching project?
We will dedicate time to talk about the population that is the best fit for your availability, comfort & passion. I will help support and find teaching opportunities.
How much does the course cost?
The training is $400. 10% is donated back to the non-profit GOGI (Getting Out by Going In).

Wednesday January 19th, 8:45-10:45am
Yoga Practice for BOSS OF MY BRAIN, applied anatomy practice teach.
Saturday January 22nd, 9-1pm
Yoga Practice for BELLY BREATHING.
Asana overview & applied anatomy for
the respiratory system & nervous system. Pranayama practice.
Wednesday January 26th, 8:45-10:45am
Yoga Practice for BELLY BREATHING.
Saturday January 29th, 9-1pm
Yoga Practice for FIVE SECOND LIGHTSWITCH. Asana overview. Philosophy from the Yoga Sutras. Guest Instructor TBD.
Wednesday February 2nd, 8:45-10:45am
Yoga Practice for FIVE SECOND LIGHTSWITCH. Practice teach.
Friday February 4th, 4-6pm
Final Teaching - 3 hours To be completed by December of 2022
Participants will be supported in finding underserved, non-traditional Yoga spaces (including virtual) to teach their final practicum in areas such as prisons, juvenile detention centers, mental health facilities, schools and senior centers. Opportunities to continue training will be available including moving directly into a 200 hour Yoga Alliance approved teacher training/mentorship.
